Four years later, we still have not heard from the first ever democratically-elected President of Egypt Dr. Mohamed Morsy who was kidnapped and imprisoned following the Egyptian Military Coup d’Etat on July 3, 2013.

On Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. an important and timely human rights conference #Let_Morcy_Talk NYC will take place to bring attention to democracy and human rights in Egypt, the Middle East, and around the world.

Sponsored by International Action Center, Human Right’s Watch, Gandhi’s Be Magazine, CODEPINK, and Gandhi Global Center For Peace, the featured presenters for the conference will include:

Ramsey Clark, Fmr. Attorney General
Sarah Leah Whitson, Human Rights Watch
Sara Flounders, International Action Center
Norman Finkelstein, Author & Activist
Melissa Turner, Journalist & Co-Founder Gandhi’s Be Magazine
M. Cahit Oktay, President of TAMJA
Moderated by Mohamed Okda, Head of Ghorba

Additionally, the conference will feature a VIP presenter from the front lines of the Egyptian Revolution to give attendees perspective on the urgent situation involving Egypt’s human rights crisis and continued efforts toward restoring democracy.

This event is free, but RSVP’s are required for admission.
