Dear IAC friends:

On Sunday, June 11 the Puerto Rican Day Parade will take place as it does every year.  This year however, the Parade is making history!

The parade will be led by freed and beloved political prisoner Oscar Lopez Rivera.  Despite corporate pressure, that pulled out of sponsorship off the parade because a “terrorist” was leading it, the Parade Committee stood strong, did not cave in to that pressure and Oscar will lead the parade.  This is a complete victory for the Puerto Rican people.

If you are interested in marching with the Oscar Lopez contingent, please contact Teresa Gutierrez for a wristband so you can get into the lineup.  We will gather at 44th St. and 5th Ave. around 9:30am.
