Thompson is a North Carolina Central University student who climbed the Confederate statue in Durham on Aug. 14 to begin the act of taking it down, two days after white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia attacked anti-racist activists. Thompson was subsequently arrested for the action, along with Loan Tran and 12 others, all facing both felony and misdemeanor charges.

Come hear and meet these two heroic freedom fighters, both members of Workers World Party. Discussion will include how to continue to ­support the Durham arrestees and carrying on the struggle against all forms of white supremacy, including police repression.
