Resolution: International Protest Against the War in Donbass

Dear comrades,

On April 14, 2014, the government in Kiev, Ukraine, officially announced the beginning of the so-called “Anti-Terrorist Operation” in the Donbass region. With the use of fighter and bombing aircraft, together with heavy artillery, the Ukrainian military began the process of “levelling” to the ground otherwise peaceful cities and villages.

During the past four years of this war, more than 10,000 people have been killed in the Donbass region, more than 24,000 people have been injured, while the number of refugees forced to leave their homes exceeds one and a half million people. Hundreds of children have also been killed and wounded. The blood of the inhabitants of Donbass is on the hands of the Kiev regime — which has unleashed military aggression in response to the self-determination of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

Almost 40,000 buildings have been destroyed in the territory of the DPR and LPR. Among them were no military facilities, but only production facilities, schools, hospitals and residential buildings.

The adoption by the Ukrainian Parliament of the law on so-called (forced) “reintegration” of Donbass, conclusively confirms Ukraine’s commitment to seek a violent resolution to this conflict with the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. By signing said law, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko annulled the Minsk Agreements, simultaneously untying the hands of the “War Party.” The continuous supply of lethal weapons (from the EU and the U.S.) to Ukraine indicates that world imperialism is interested in the continuation of this military conflict (and is materially supporting it). The people of Donbass are compelled to defend their sovereignty in a fierce struggle against Ukrainian nationalism and fascism and world imperialism.

Participants of the action declare:

– Guided by the principles of proletarian internationalism, we express our solidarity with the people’s republics, and our readiness to help and support them.

We, the protesters, demand:

– from Kiev – that it ceases all hostilities in the Donbass region, and enters negotiations with the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics with regards to establishing relations on the principles of peace;

– from the European Union and the United States — to stop supplying financial aid and military equipment to the criminal Kiev regime;

– from the international community — to support the demand of the People’s Tribunal of Donbass to prosecute Poroshenko, Turchinov, Avakov, Poltorak, Muzhenko and the other military and political criminals of Ukraine.

No war in Donbass!

We support the self-determination of the DPR and LPR!

April 14, 2018

Actions are planned in: Donetsk, Lugansk, Moscow, London, Berlin, Rome, Naples and Bologna. The resolution will also be presented as part of the #SpringAction2018 protests April 14-15 in New York and other U.S. cities.
