Today, anti-ICE activists with FIRE (Fight for Im/migrants and Refugees Everywhere) will protest the National Homeland Security Conference.

The Conference is an enormous propaganda event for the Department of Homeland Security and private security contractors, responsible for the detention and deportation of millions of migrants.

The DHS includes the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) which is responsible for the continued devastation of Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. We demand reparations for Puerto Rico!

The Wednesday protest called by FIRE — Fight for Im/migrants & Refugees Everywhere — is one of several actions nationwide called by the newly formed group.

Those activities include a ten-person delegation from NYC to Brownsville, TX, for a protest of the notorious Casa Padre, along with meetings along the border with migrant groups, as well as contingents in the massive June 30th demonstrations in numerous cities.

Most recently, last Monday FIRE activists protested in front of the Nassau County Executive building to demand that the local police cease their collaboration with ICE.

      Justice for Everyone Killed in Detention

      Justice for LGBTQ migrants

      Reunite ALL families – including those separated from the mass incarceration of Black, Brown & poor people

      Solidarity with African, Asian & Middle Eastern migrants

      Reparations now to Puerto Rico for US colonialism

      Permanent Residence now for all im/migrants
