The MTA is once again claiming it needs to raise fares. At the same time the richest city in the world is welcoming the richest person in the world to town.

Jeff Bezos makes $190,000 a minute; Amazon paid no federal taxes in 2017; and Amazon has been given hundreds of millions in tax breaks to locate in Queens.

If Gov Cuomo and Mayor DeBlasio want to roll out the red carpet for Amazon, then let Bezos give the MTA the money it needs: not just to stop the fare hike, but to get elevators in the subway to make it TRULY accessible — for anyone with a wheelchair, stroller or who can’t navigate stairs for whatever reason!
