As years of U.S. attacks on im/migrants stretch into decades, it becomes hard to imagine what additional horror could be inflicted by this white-supremacist government on people trying to find safety by crossing a U.S. border.
The Trump administration has viciously escalated the brutal attacks on migrant workers, opening concentration camps, tearing families apart, while imprisoning children in inhumane conditions and carrying out mass raids and deportations. These attacks are an intensification of the practices of the Obama administration.
At the same time, the U.S. is also setting its targets on Iran. For decades, it has been trying to economically strangle Iran. After Iran had complied with every condition of the so-called Iran Nuclear deal, the Trump Administration unilaterally pulled out of the signed Accord, imposed harsh new sanctions and made ominous military moves.
The U.S. still continues to advance its coup agenda in Venezuela, with new assassination and destabilization efforts against the elected government. The mobilization of the Venezuelan people and the international solidarity movement struggles to push these U.S. coup efforts back.
The sanctions imposed on Iran, Venezuela and over 20 other countries are an extreme form of war by economic means. Sanctions deprive the population of basic food, essential medicines, spare parts, commerce, and foreign aid. Sanctions cause hyperinflation and mass unemployment. The severe sanctions imposed on Venezuela have resulted in the deaths of upwards of 40,000 people.
Both major parties in the U.S. have shown their desire for war. The Democrats have been more aggressive towards Syria, Libya, North Korea and Russia than the Republicans. We need a movement that is unified and independent.
We have seen the disastrous effects of the U.S. wars on Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria and other countries as well as U.S. support for Saudi Arabia’s war on Yemen and Israel’s ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians.
U.S. wars have caused the deaths of millions, environmental devastation and the destruction of entire countries. U.S. spending for 800+ foreign military bases, weapons systems, drones and aircraft carriers gobbles up 64% of our tax dollars. Super profits to military and oil corporations steal billions of dollars needed for education, healthcare, housing for all and solidarity for migrants fleeing U.S. wars and climate crisis.
No war on migrants! No war on Iran or Venezuela!
No raids and deportations! No Sanctions!
