The International Action Center supports the call for a U.N. Independent Investigation into gross violations of human rights in the Philippines. President Rodrigo Duterte’s drug war, responsible for nearly 30,000 deaths, the displacement and murder of the Indigenous Lumad people by the armed forces of the Philippines, the assassinations of progressive activists and lawyers, and numerous other human rights violations require an independent investigation to expose the extent of crimes committed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.
