Democratic Front extends condolences to Venezuela

The Department of International Relations, Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine issued the following statement of condolence to the people of Venezuela, on June 26, 2026.
The Department of External Relations of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) has sent messages of condolence to a number of political, official and popular institutions in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, expressing its profound sympathy with the Venezuelan people following the devastating earthquakes that claimed dozens of lives, injured large numbers of people and caused widespread destruction and suffering.
The messages were addressed to the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), the Simón Bolívar Institute, the Venezuelan–Palestinian Friendship Committee in the Venezuelan Parliament, the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as a number of Venezuelan political and social organizations.
In its messages, the Department of External Relations stressed that the Palestinian people stand in solidarity with the friendly Venezuelan people as they confront this humanitarian tragedy, expressing its full support during these difficult moments and reaffirming its belief that the resilience of peoples is stronger than adversity and disasters and that the values of human and international solidarity will always remain a source of strength for peoples struggling in the face of challenges.
The Department added that this painful occasion recalls the long-standing bonds of struggle and international solidarity that have united movements for liberation and progress around the world. It affirmed that the Palestinian people, who have themselves endured the pain of loss, suffering and steadfastness, share the grief of the Venezuelan people while maintaining confidence in their ability to overcome the consequences of this tragedy and restore their country’s well-being.
The Department also paid tribute to the rescue teams, humanitarian workers and all those involved in assisting those affected by the disaster, expressing confidence that the values of unity and solidarity will help Venezuela overcome this ordeal. It noted that throughout its history, the Venezuelan people have demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of challenges, sanctions and blockades and possess the determination and strength to overcome this crisis as well.
The Department stated: “From wounded Palestine, which knows all too well the meaning of pain, loss and steadfastness, we extend our sincerest expressions of sympathy and solidarity to the Venezuelan people and their leadership. We offer our deepest condolences and heartfelt compassion to the families of the victims, while wishing a speedy recovery to the injured and safety and well-being for all those affected.”
The Democratic Front renewed its unwavering support for Venezuela and its people, emphasizing that the historic bonds of solidarity between the two peoples, together with their shared commitment to freedom, justice and the right of peoples to self-determination, make this tragedy a shared humanitarian concern and reinforce the determination to further strengthen the ties of brotherhood and cooperation between their peoples and their progressive and democratic forces.
