The Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas published the following press statement on July 24.

The fascist Zionist occupation is escalating its crimes against our people in the West Bank, the latest of which was the horrific massacre it committed against the families of the village of Tal, south of Nablus, after its soldiers opened fire directly on them while they were defending their land and properties against colonial settlers’ assaults.

As we mourn the heroic martyrs in the village of Tal and pray to Allah for the speedy recovery of the wounded, we affirm that what happened was a field execution crime and another war crime added to the occupation’s bloody record against our people, exposing the criminal nature of the occupation forces, which do not hesitate to target and kill Palestinians in cold blood.

We salute the resistance, which rejects to accept humiliation, and the heroic freedom fighter from the steadfast village of Tal, who managed to seize the weapon of one of the Zionist criminals and direct his fire at those attacking our land and homeland, killing one of them and wounding others.

The occupation’s approach, based on the shedding of Palestinian blood, will not succeed in spreading terror among our people. Rather, it will increase their determination, steadfastness and defiance and will inflame public anger that will only end with the end of the occupation.

We call upon our people in the West Bank to escalate confrontation with the occupation at all points of contact and activate all means of resistance to make the occupation and its colonial settlers pay the price for their crimes and not to allow them to desecrate our land and holy sites; as well as to let their incursions and assaults against our villages in the West Bank be an opportunity to target them with full force.
