Iran declares ‘anti-Zionist resistance remains unshakable’

Ismail Haniyeh

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) posted the following statement on Aug. 2, 2026, marking the second anniversary of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh’s assassination by the Zionist state of Israel.

  • The conspiracy to disarm Hamas will lead nowhere and has already failed. We give the world the glad tidings that the anti-Zionist resistance remains unshakable and that, by God’s grace, Palestine’s final victory over the occupiers is closer than the enemies imagine.
  • The assassination of Martyr Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, while he was an official guest attending the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was a great crime and a blatant violation of the principles and norms of international law, as well as the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
  • Two years after the Zionist regime’s assassination of Sheikh Ismail Haniyeh, and amid the continuation of the genocide and the escalation of what it described as the Zionists’ medieval crimes in Gaza, the expansion of the war and aggression to southern Lebanon, and the subsequent launch of the second and third imposed wars against the Islamic Republic of Iran with the participation of the “wicked and demonic” U.S. president and the U.S. terrorist military, the terrorist and criminal nature of the Zionist regime has become more evident than ever to the entire world.
  • The continued comprehensive military and political support provided by the United States and several other Western countries, together with the alignment and complicity of what it described as reactionary regional governments, has made them partners in the crimes committed by the Zionist regime and underscores their international responsibility for the regime’s genocide and war crimes.
