Criminalizing fascist genocide and legitimizing revolutionary struggle
The Exterior Relations Committee of the Popular Democratic Party in Lebanon condemns the imperialist terrorism embodied in the decision issued by the U.S. Treasury against both Masar Badi and Palestine Action, and the escalation this decision represents in imperialist and Zionist aggressive policies against forces resisting occupation and domination, as well as against international political, social, and popular movements and organizations that stand in solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people and the peoples of the region fighting for their national and social liberation.
History teaches us that the national struggle of oppressed peoples against occupation, colonialism and domination has never waited for the approval of the occupier or colonizer nor for a decision by the U.S. Federal Reserve or by the central banks of the savage capitalist system. Rather, it is an expression of the will of peoples and their revolutionary forces yearning for freedom.
The U.S. terrorist decision against the Alternative Path Movement is the true expression of the predicament facing the enemy camp in the face of the growing awareness among the peoples of the world and international solidarity movements regarding the nature of imperialism and the Zionist entity as systems of genocide, colonialism, settler colonialism and organized plunder. Their threat does not target only the Palestinian people and the peoples of the region; it extends to humanity as a whole. The rise of fascist forces in the states at the core of the capitalist system is the clearest evidence of this.
The response to this decision must be to escalate the struggle of revolutionary forces, activate the international solidarity movement and unite the energies of our Palestinian people inside Palestine and throughout the diaspora, organizing them within effective structures. This requires Palestinian and Arab national and left-wing forces that resist and reject concession and surrender to assume their historic responsibilities in the struggle for consciousness and will, to mobilize the popular masses and to strengthen communication and coordination with international forces.
The confrontation waged by our peoples is not confined to any particular geography. If the imperialist, Zionist and fascist enemy forces are united in the camp of the enemies of revolution, then it is all the more incumbent upon the forces of revolution, resistance and liberation to close ranks and unite in the camp of confrontation, from Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Iran and Cuba to the fields of revolution in Asia, Africa and Latin America and onward to the streets, squares, capitals, cities and universities of Europe, North America and Canada.
Economic and financial sanctions will not intimidate working people and revolutionaries who possess nothing but their will, determination and the trust of their peoples, nor will they intimidate those struggling to rid humanity of the evils of capitalism.
We, in the Popular Democratic Party in Lebanon, reaffirm our support for our comrades of Masar Badil in confronting these sanctions and reject every attempt to isolate or marginalize it or to sever its ties with international solidarity movements.
We also express our solidarity with Palestine Action and with all those subjected to repression, restrictions and siege because of their political activity in solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people, who are determined to liberate their occupied land from the river to the sea.
We also call upon forces opposed to colonialism, racism and fascism to regard these measures as a new warning regarding the direction in which political and civil liberties are heading in the colonial West, where the instruments of repression are being expanded to target popular and trade union movements, left-wing movements and international solidarity movements.
Solidarity with Palestine is a duty, not a crime.
Political organizing is a right, not a crime.
Fighting colonialism is a priority, not a crime.
And sanctions will not abolish the right of peoples to struggle for their freedom.
