The International Action Center is calling for Emergency Days of Solidarity with Bolivarian Venezuela to stop the US attempt to destroy the Revolution, from Thursday, June 1 through Saturday, June 10.

Make no mistake; what has been happening for the last two months in Venezuela is a counterrevolution by the most reactionary forces of the opposition to President Nicolás Maduro’s government. It is no different from what the US did with Pinochet in Chile in 1973, with the “contras” in Nicaragua in the 80’s and more recently against Libya and now in Syria. It is a ‘regime change’ effort.

The corporate media – the voice of the Pentagon and White House – has set up an international campaign of blatant lies that try to present the terrorist actions of the fascist hoards as repression from the Revolutionary Government. The truth is that these terrorist acts are directed against state’s buildings and agencies and against the supporters of the revolution.  The aim of these protests is to create chaos to declare a ‘humanitarian crisis’ and demand US intervention.

State agencies’ buildings have been destroyed, an entire float of public buses burned, a health facility for women and children attacked. Over sixty people have died and hundreds wounded during these protests. These are not ‘pro-democracy peaceful’ protests as the media tries to portray. Criminal groups and thugs are involved, Children paid by the opposition with US aid money are also involved. The fascist, hateful and racist character of the attacks include setting people on fire, stabbing and beating them while shouting racist insults. 

The OAS has been the principal body working on behalf of the US, to launch an international campaign against Venezuela. As a result, Venezuela left the OAS. 

Now there is a real danger of a military intervention. Two days after Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos met with President Trump in Washington, Colombian army tanks were mobilized to the border with Venezuela. 

Key opposition figures – Lilian Tintori, the wife of jailed right wing leader Leopoldo López, and National Assembly president Julio Borges – have met separately with Trump to request US intervention. 

During these days, we aim to: Expose the US government and media’s role; Show the truth behind these demonstrations; and express solidarity with the Bolivarian people and their government.

El Centro de Acción Internacional convoca a Jornadas Urgentes de Solidaridad con Venezuela Bolivariana para detener el intento estadounidense de destruir la Revolución, desde el jueves 1 de junio hasta el sábado 10 de junio.

¡No tengamos duda! Lo que ha estado ocurriendo en los últimos dos meses en Venezuela es una contrarrevolución de las fuerzas más reaccionarias de la oposición al gobierno del presidente Nicolás Maduro. No es diferente de lo que hizo Estados Unidos con Pinochet en Chile en 1973, con los contras en Nicaragua en los años 80 y más recientemente contra Libia y ahora en Siria. Es un esfuerzo de “cambio de régimen”.

Los medios corporativos – la voz del Pentágono y de la Casa Blanca- han establecido una campaña internacional de mentiras flagrantes que tratan de presentar las acciones terroristas de las hordas fascistas como si fueran actos de represión del Gobierno Revolucionario. La verdad es que estos actos terroristas están dirigidos contra los edificios y organismos del Estado y contra las/os partidarios de la revolución. El objetivo de estas protestas es crear el caos para declarar una “crisis humanitaria” y exigir la intervención de Estados Unidos.

Edificios de agencias estatales han sido destruidos, una flota entera de autobuses públicos ha sido quemada, un centro materno infantil de salud ha sido atacado. Más de sesenta personas han muerto y cientos han sido heridas durante estas protestas. No se trata de protestas pacíficas “pro democracia” como los medios intentan pintar. Grupos criminales y matones están involucrados, hay también niños involucrados pagados por la oposición con el dinero de la ayuda de EUA. El carácter fascista, odioso y racista de los ataques incluye incendiar a personas, apuñalarlas y golpearlas mientras gritan insultos racistas.

La OEA ha sido el principal órgano que trabaja a nombre de los Estados Unidos, para lanzar una campaña internacional contra Venezuela. Como resultado, Venezuela se salió de la OEA.

Ahora existe el peligro real de una intervención militar. Dos días después de que el presidente colombiano Juan Manuel Santos se reunió con el presidente Trump en Washington, tanques del ejército colombiano fueron movilizados a la frontera con Venezuela.

Figuras reconocidas de la oposición como Lilian Tintori, la esposa del preso Leopoldo López, y el presidente de la Asamblea Nacional Julio Borges, se han reunido por separado con Trump para solicitar la intervención de Estados Unidos.

Durante estos días, nuestro objetivo es: Exponer el papel del gobierno y los medios de comunicación de los Estados Unidos; Mostrar la verdad detrás de estas manifestaciones; Y expresar nuestra solidaridad con el pueblo bolivariano y su gobierno.
